AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) Fundraiser
Or Chadash is raising funds to purchase an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). As part of our overall security strategy, we believe that having an AED on site at Or Chadash can be of critical importance to our members. According to the Red Cross "Sudden cardiac arrest is one of the
leading causes of death in the U.S. Over 350,000 people will suffer from sudden cardiac arrest this year. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere and at any age. An AED is the only effective treatment for restoring a regular heart rhythm during sudden cardiac arrest and is an easy to operate tool for someone with no medical background."
The AED and the necessary training for our staff and teachers is estimated to cost $2670. The Gong-Sloan family has graciously offered to provide a match of up to $850 of the cost of purchasing this important piece of life saving equipment. We appreciate your giving to this important cause. With many thanks to Victor Sloan and Sandra Gong and to all of you for helping fund the AED.
